IMG_7856WEBIt is hard to believe that we are already at the tail end of the first quarter. It certainly has been a busy one here at Chicago Pneumatic with World of Concrete and the ARA Rental Show already under our belt. All things considered, this is looking like another big year for Chicago Pneumatic with several new product launches, many of which we released at both tradeshows that we attended.

Last year was a very strong year with a big increase in market share for the Chicago Pneumatic brand. This was a direct result of many things, including all the hard work our staff has put in, as well as our sales teams, distributors, and our loyal customers. There are a lot of moving parts to not only manufacturing a successful product, but to getting the product on the market in front of our customers. I truly believe that what makes us successful as a whole is the fact that our people are not only knowledgeable in the field and their area, but that they also deeply care about the products we put out there. 2014 was a testament to that, and our goal — something I very much believe in — is that 2015 will be an even better year for us.

IMG_2577WEBWe recently held our annual sales meeting the night before the Rental Show. It is always a great night and one that I look forward to with much of our team all in one room from distributors to our sales team. Our presentation always leads to great conversation about the previous year’s numbers, what we can improve, and what they can expect in the upcoming year. I also hand out our much-deserved sales awards during the presentation, a token of appreciation for all the hard work they do. This year there were six different winners from a total sales award to rookie of the year, along with specific product sales (see announcements for winners).

During the sales meeting I always like to find a good quote to go with the presentation and this year I found one from Vince Lombardi that seemed to ring true: “The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.” The measure here is not just our total sales volume, which very much exceeded expectations during a busy 2014-year, but also the way we, collectively, represent the CP brand.

Last year we had many successful product launches including the Ride-On Rollers, a new concrete lineup, and the Red Hawk Road, among others. These products brought a lot of positive feedback to us from both our distributors and customers. Speaking of positive feedback, we also had new additions to our RX breaker lineup, selling over 50 percent more than in 2013. As you will see with our Maytin Engineering article that is included in this newsletter, the story is just one example of many on just how passionate our customers are about the CP breakers they own.

IMG_7872WEBThis year we already introduced new concrete equipment, which includes redesigned power trowels, pneumatic pokers, and walk-behind screeds, as well as three brand new concrete product offerings with truss screeds, a spreader wagon, and the CombiForm screed rail system. Our booth at WOC was outside, so customers were able to try out each of the new products. Customers seemed to be excited about the new concrete lineup, especially the CombiForm, which is a very exciting product that saves time and offers our customers a total solution for surface vibration applications. At CP, we are working hard to become a full solutions provider in the construction industry, and we are thrilled about all of our latest products. We now feature portable compressors and generators, handheld tools, concrete equipment, compaction equipment, light towers and rig-mounted construction equipment in our lineup.

While we displayed those new products for the first time at World of Concrete, we did add two new tampers during the Rental Show, the MS595 and MS695. The tampers are a great example of our team truly listening to customers for what they need out on the job. Many of our customers talked to our distributors and sales team to come up with a solution so the tampers could also get into the trenches. We listened to our customer requests and came up with an answer. With a sleeker look, the new tampers come in a smaller package, which now allows operators to get into tight spaces and provide more versatility on the jobsite while still maintaining power and durability.

As always, we would like to thank you for your continued support of the Chicago Pneumatic brand and look forward to continuing our partnership for many years to come.
